In this tour I will not take you to famous tourist attractions in Osaka like Osaka Castle, Dotonbori, Universal Studios Japan.
Through this tour, I would like you all to enjoy your time with the people who live in Osaka.
This tour includes
1) Lunch at a family-owned okonomiyaki restaurant
2) Experiencing the sharpness of made-in-Osaka cooking knives
3) Taste tea from a family-owned tea shop on a traditional shopping street loved by Osaka locals, eat real tofu from a tofu shop made by a third-generation owner (different from what you can buy at the supermarket!) and pick up pickles from a pickle shop run by a father, mother and son.

Shinsekai
Shinsekai (新世界, lit. "New World") is a district in Osaka that was developed before the war and then neglected in the decades afterwards. At the district's center stands Tsutenkaku Tower, the nostalgia-evoking symbol of Shinsekai.
The area was developed into its current layout following the success of the 1903 National Industrial Exposition, which brought over five million people to the neighborhood within just five months. Shortly after the expo closed its doors, work began to improve and update Shinsekai.

Local Market in Sumiyoshi Ward
KOHAMA MARKET, a local market in Sumiyoshi Ward, Osaka City, is a shopping street in front of Sumiyoshitaisha Shrine (commonly known as "Sumiyosan"), the headquarters of Sumiyoshi shrines nationwide, and has a history of over 100 years since the Meiji era (1868-1912). The kohama market began as a fruit and vegetable market established by seven rice dealers in kohama when the Nankai Railway (now Nankai Electric Railway) started operations in 1907 and Kohama Station and other stations were newly built.
The area is lined with about 120 stores from north to south between Kohama Station on the Nankai Main Line and Sumiyoshi Taisha Shrine, and is bustling with local shoppers every day.

The tour starts at Shin Imamiya JR station east gate. The end of the tour is Sumiyoshi (10 minutes to Namba by Nankai train).
Transportation during the tour costs about 250 yen per person.
This tour will visit several family-owned stores.
Although not mandatory, I would greatly appreciate it if you will be able to purchase some items at each of these stores.
