Overview

Enjoy strolling about under cherry blossoms in spring and in autumn colorful leaves in 400 years old samurai town. You can actually go inside a house and witness how samurais lived in the past.
At the sake brewery taste various kinds of sake and see the meticulous process how to brew them.

    Dakigaeri keikoku Gorge

    The most beautiful gorge of North-eastern Japan. It is characterized by a deep valley and distinctive blue river. Especially in fall the contrast between colorful leaves and the blue water draw many visitors every year.

    Suzuki Sake Brewery

    Suzuki sake brewery has more than 330 years of history. The detailed sake making process is explained looking at tools and facilities. At the end of visit enjoy various kinds of sake at the brewery.

    Kakunodate Samurai District

    The area is designated as a Historically Significant Traditional Buildings Preservation Area. Stroll along streets in the samurai town structure preserved since 1620. We visit samurai high-ranking houses of Ishiguro and Aoyagi families.
