Overview

In this tour, we visit Kameoka city which is about 30 minutes from JR Kyoto station. In this city, you can observing very clean countryside landscape because the municipality encourage the residents of Kameoka to minimize the garbage, especialy plastic ones after they declared the "free of plastic garbage" city. Please enjoy experiencing making your own chopsticks from Kyoto bamboo, and also you can try an Indigo dying creating your own favorite design into the Japanese towel near Hozu River, which beauty of nature is protected by local residents. Use your imagination to create a nice design in this peaceful atomosphere. After these two crafts experiences, we dine at Matsusho Japanese restaurant for lunch. Please enjoy a full course lunch including many Japanese seasonal vegetable cropped in Kameoka city. In the afternoon, we visit Tanzan Brewery to experience tasting Japanese sake after strolling around a old street of Kameoka city. You can enjoy a full day tour in Kameoka City.

    KAMEOKA Station is only about 30 minutes train ride from JR Kyoto Station. You can see a quiet countryside landscape through the window view. In front of the JR KAMEOKA Station, there stands KYOTO SANGA Stadium. We will start KAMEOKA One Day Tour from here!

    NAGAOKA MEICHIKU ~experience making your own bamboo chopsticks~

    Nagaoka Meichiku was founded in 1952 and started manufacturing bamboo fences and bamboo crafts after working in bamboo forestry. It has been 60 years since they have been making bamboo fences as a subcontractor for a bamboo wholesaler in Kyoto. The number of bamboo fence they constructed one of the top constructor in Japan. With the reliable technology and rich knowledge that have been commended as a "Kyoto Master Craftsman" by the Governor of Kyoto prefecture, they take a pride in a "high-quality Japanese space that can only be found there" through bamboo products. Amoung their clients are the Kyoto Imperial Palace, Katsura Imperial Villa, Kenninji Temple and more. Bamboo represents Japan's unique heart. The simple and beautiful Kyoto bamboo fence creates the finest harmony. You will experience making your own original chopsticks with this Kyoto bamboo.     KYOTO HOZUAI KOBO ~indigo dyeing your own towel~

    Kyoto Hozu Ai Co., Ltd. has revived the phantom Kyoto water indigo and branded it as “Kyo Preservation”, and is engaged in indigo cultivation, dyeing, indigo dyeing processing, experience activities, and various products sales. Based on the cultivation and technology of indigo so far, they propose and provide new living spaces for indigo dyeing in a wider range of fields. Indigo used to be cultivated all over the country until the Meiji period, and high-quality indigo was cultivated in Kyoto as water indigo. In 2015, it was revived in Kameoka, where it was cultivated by an indigo master in Tokushima. Indigo is also attracting attention as a “super food”. The antioxidant power of indigo is 10 times that of blueberries and 20 times that of broccoli. You can experience various product dyeing. Let's dye your favorite things with indigo and create original items!

    ~Tanzan Brewery - Enjoy tasting Japanese Sake~

    Located in the upper reaches of Arashiyama in Kyoto, under the blessing of water and rich soil, TANZAN Brewery is dedicated to self-cultivating rice and pesticide-free organic farming.  At the brewery, they are working on sake brewing with passion in their hearts, "mastering the water", "polishing the rice", and "listening to the voice of the sake". You can enjoy a variety of original Japanese sake, from the finest Daiginjo Junmai sake to Junmai sake. Please enjoy their super original sake this time!
