Welcome to Osaka! Are you looking for an off the beaten path-experience while you are visiting Japan?
This is a day trip with a local guide on weekend ( Saturday, Sunday or national holidays ) from Osaka to visit a mountain village known for its beautiful scenery of nature, pottery making and delicious food!
This is especially perfect for those families with kids who are hoping to explore countryside in Japan.
Because this tour includes Children's Museum where you can enjoy toys, picture books, and also freely running around a playground.
( Why Only Weekends? )
Children's Museum opens only weekends and Japanese national holidays.
This is because the facility is used for local school students on weekdays.
( About Tamba Sasayama )
Tamba Sasayama is a beautiful town where you can see traditional rural scenery because it is surrounded by mountains. It is located about 70 km away from Osaka city taking about one hour train trip.
( Transportation method )
Transportation method is very limited in the mountain village.
So I will recommend to charter a private car and driver, or rent a bike to explore the village!
Please note that the tour price does not include transportation fees. Please review the description about the transportation costs and feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
If your hotel is located outside of Osaka city, please contact your guide and we will arrange a meeting location.
The highlight of this trip is definitely the beautiful scenery of the mountains and townscape. Spring, we will stroll under cherry blossoms blooming along the local river. Summer, we enjoy the greenness of rice growing in the fields under the sunlight. Needless to say, the autumn foliage is beautiful. We will see the mountain slopes turning red and yellow. Finally in winter, we will see the mountains sleeping silently under a layer of snow.
The Children's Museum is a children's playground located in the beautiful mountains of Tamba Sasayama. You can touch traditional Japanese nostalgic toys or toys from various parts of the world. There will also be picture books, workshops, puppet shows, and art exhibits. This is actually where the local children spend time after school every day.
There is a restaurant in the Children's museum where you can eat local Japanese school lunch including Teishoku, Udon-noodles, Japanese curry and so on.
