The Artizon Museum was created within a 23-story building nearby Tokyo Station. On the first floor is the museum cafe, the second floor has the museum shop, and the exhibits are on the third through sixth floors. This museum was created by reimagining what was originally the Bridgestone Museum of Art, founded in 1952 by Ishibashi Shojiro. Aiming to communicate "a sense of (the) limitless horizon of art to many people," the words 'art' and 'horizon' were combined to coin a new word, 'artizon.' Using this as its new name, the museum had its opening in January of 2020. An art museum that incorporates cutting-edge technology and digital contents, it has adopted "experiencing creativity" as its concept, and there are a wide variety of both ancient and contemporary pieces on display, including Oriental pieces, Impressionism, Asian art, Japanese Western-style paintings, and more.
