The Higashiyama Zoo and Botanical Gardens is a favorite with Nagoya’s citizens and is the second most popular zoo in Japan, after Ueno Zoo in Tokyo. In recent years the zoo’s handsome gorilla and the siamang gibbon have received lots of media attention, but there is more to see.
