Kamaishi was selected as a host city in March 2015 as a symbol of reconstruction for the first Rugby World Cup in Asia in 2019, and in order to give dreams, hope and courage to the children of the future. Surrounded by the sea and forests, the stadium is in a beautiful location with natural and harmonious scenery. The stadium has two car parks one on the east side of the stadium (142 spaces) and the other on the west side (102 spaces). On days with no scheduled matches or events the car park can be used by the general public. However, during the 2019 Rugby World Cup the car park is unavailable for regular customers.
