Koiwai Farm started back in 1891, with one single tree planted into the deserted land. Today, it has become a facility where people can enjoy activities ranging from animal exchange to making cheese throughout the four seasons. During the winter time, the farm also holds an illumination event. Furthermore, Miyazawa Kenji, a poet and children’s tale author from Iwate prefecture created a number of popular works based on his love for the farm.
