Mt. Shirataki is a famous viewpoint on the island of Innoshima in Hiroshima prefecture.
The brilliant view from the peak of Mt. Shirataki allows you to see Takayama Castle to the north, and Hiroshima International Airport is just a stone's throw away. You can even see as far as the mountainous parts of the Chugoku region. Near the summit of the mountain, you can find around 700 stone buddhas scattered around, made by the founder of the Ikkan Kyo religion and his disciples back in 1830. It took them around 3 years to make all of the stone buddhas, and they leave a solemn atmosphere in their place. In addition, Mt. Shirataki is also a famous spot for watching the sunset and you can enjoy the golden sun glistening off of the Setouchi Sea.
