Shiobarakeikoku Yuhodo is a walking path in Nikko National Park that stretches for 12km along the Hoki River. There are 7 hiking trails in total for visitors to take a walk in a relaxing manner as they enjoy the green forest and absorb negative ions from the nature. Many courses pass by popular tourist spots so it is a good idea to walk the trails with a guidebook just in case not to miss any sightseeing spots.
Visitors can choose hiking trails that fit them the most. For example, for visitors who are physically fit, Mikaeri Trail will be a good choice. The trail passes by the Mikaeri Suspension Bridge, which has a great view and an open-air bathing place with rural beauty. Yashio course, which is recommended for families, also provides open-air bathing place and has one of the most popular scenic spots in Shiobara, the Hokigawa Dam. There are also courses that you can finish in around 30 minutes so people who do not have much stamina or time can visit here too.
The autumn season is especially popular for hiking since people can walk in surrounding of colored beech and Mongolian oak on the beautiful ravine. It is recommended season to visit this place.
