Studio Sedic is a film production company based in Tsuruoka, Yamagata Prefecture. What makes the company an interesting destination for travelers is its movie set which is open to the public. Spanning an area of about 88 hectares, the movie set features historical Japanese buildings and was used for many period dramas. It is still in use today, so you may see documentaries or shows filmed on site while you are visiting. This also means that the set does change and new decorations are built and others torn down. In addition, the nature of Yamagata Prefecture provides a beautiful backdrop.
