Umenoki Todoroki Koen Park Suspension Bridge

Beautiful Scenery

Umenoki Todoro Koen Park Suspension Bridge is a 116 meter long suspended bridge over a majestic canyon in Yatsushiro city in Kumamoto prefecture and its feature is that it does not use any auxiliary rope or a support column. The surroundings are also well-known as an incredibly beautiful autumn foliage sightseeing spot, and you can enjoy the contrast with a 180° panorama of autumn leaves and suspension bridge. After crossing the bridge and walking along a trail for about 10 minutes, “Umenoki Todoro,” which is a graceful waterfall with a drop of 38 meters, appears. It was very difficult to see this waterfall before the bridge was built because it is located deep in the mountainside and was called “Phantom Falls”, however, you can now see it easily since the suspension bridge was built in 1989.
