Yabakei Gorge, located in the northern region of Oita prefecture, is a nationally designated place of scenic beauty, and is said to be one of the top 3 spots in Japan to see the autumn leaves and foliage in Japan. With the Yamakunigawa river running through it, this naturally occurring gorge and it's many caves, rock formations and cliffs give for quite the scenic spot all year around. Also a great place to explore, there a plethora of different scenic spots to be seen at Yabakei Gorge with many hiking trails, cycle roots and hot springs in the area too.
