The Akiu Hotel Zuiho in Sendai features an attractive onsen (hot spring) that is also open to daytime visitors. Its large public baths include multiple indoor and outdoor baths, jacuzzis and a sauna. The outdoor baths (rotenburo) are located in a Japanese garden with rocks and small waterfalls that create a soothing atmosphere. The bathing areas are gender separated and rotate frequently, so if you revisit or stay at the hotel you may be able to experience both areas on different days. There are different plans for daytime visitors, including some that include a Japanese lunch and usage of a swimming pool. If you want to relax and enjoy some wellness while visiting the Sendai area, the Zuiho Onsen is a good choice.
