Hasshoku Center

Culture Experience Food & Drink Shopping

Hasshoku Center is an enormous market that opened in 1980. It is measured at about 170 meters in length and is lined with about 60 stores; it contains many well-known local Hachinohe products. The fishmongers sell a wide variety of fish freshly caught that morning, and there is a bountiful selection of seasonal fish, dried fish, sashimi and rare seafood. And Shichirin-mura, the eat-in space inside the center gives visitors the opportunity to you can charcoal-grill the fish or meat you just bought and enjoy it immediately.
There are also events year-round, such as outdoor music festivals, performances of Hachinohe folk entertainment, and food-related events.
Additionally, cooking classes guest-taught by local professional chefs are also held periodically to publicize the merits of food ingredients from the region.
This is a spot recommended not just for enjoying the foods of Hachinohe, but also to feel the liveliness of the local people.
※Advanced registration (via the internet, postcard, or in-person at the store) is required to attend the cooking class.
