On the center of Shodo island, Kagawa prefecture, visitors will have an opportunity to access the Kankakei Ropeway. For a small fee, you will be able to enjoy a uniquely beautiful trip up the mountain and through Kankakei Gorge by cable car. Surrounded by sheer cliffs and sudden drops, you will have ample opportunity to take in the beautiful color palate of the vibrant greens of resilient foliage and the grey stone of the ancient rock faces. Alternatively, for those up to the challenge, there are two different winding footpaths that will take you to the summit station. One will follow in the shadow of the route of the cable car, the other will lead you across the twists and turns of the mountain's face. Just make sure to bring a bottle of water either way. Once you reach the summit, you can reward yourself with a local specialty hamburger or some souvenirs to remember the trip by from the local shops at the summit.
