Katanuma is one of the strongest acidic caldera lakes in the country. Created by a volcanic eruption, this lake has an overpowering smell of sulfur. There are boats and boardwalks where you can enjoy natural walks. The lake surface changes into a variety of colors, such as emerald green, due to the weather and this creates a sense of wonderment for visitors to enjoy.
