Nagasaki Shinchi Chinatown
Entertainment Food & Drink
Nagasaki Shinchi Chinatown is one of Japan's three largest Chinatowns. In an intersection of roads that stretch out east, west, north, and south for 250 meters altogether, Nagasaki Shinchi Chinatown’s streets are lined with about 40 shops such as Chinese restaurants and Chinese variety stores. The nearby Minato Park hosts the Lantern Festival during Chinese New Year, which is celebrated each year in January of the old lunar calendar. In addition, 1000 yellow lanterns are lit up during the Mid-Autumn Festival, which is held on August 15th of the lunar calendar.
