Ryuokyo Gorge

Beautiful Scenery Outdoor Activities

Stretching around three kilometers, the Ryuokyo Gorge is believed to have been created by an undersea volcanic eruption some twenty-two million years ago. Eventually, the Kinugawa River wore away the rock, leaving what we see today. Located in Tochigi Prefecture, this area offers many picturesque natural sites including hiking trails, waterfalls, and marshes.
