Sakurai Futamigaura is a scenic spot on the coast in the west of Fukuoka Prefecture. It is famous for the 'couple rock', two rocks connected by a sacred rope called shimenawa. The union of the two rocks is meant to symbolize marriage. Sakurai Futamigaura is a popular spot for picture taking and is considered one of the top spots in Kyushu to watch the sunset. The scene of the setting sun casting its red light on the rocks is truly romantic.
