Soryokan

Art & Architecture Culture Experience History

Soryokan is a reconstruction of what was once the main residence building of the Kubo Hikobei family, which held a great influence on the cargo ships that played an active role from the end of the Edo period to the Meiji period. The name Soryokan (蘇染館) was derived from the Japanese words for beam (梁) and restore (蘇).

Upon entering, visitors can feel the atmosphere of times long past through the room arrangement and design of the building. Visitors to Soryokan can also use the building for photoshoots, which is especially attractive for those who want to try anime character cosplay. Photos can also be taken at the temples nearby Soryokan, so if you're interested, don't pass up the chance to give it a shot.
