Tokyo Daijingu Shrine is a Shinto shrine located near Iidabashi Station. It was built in 1880, and in 1900 it became the first Shinto shrine to hold a wedding ceremony. Because of this, the shrine is said to bring good luck to relationships, making it a popular place for couples to visit. At the shrine, people often pray for success in their relationships or buy omamori lucky charms for themselves or their partners. Tokyo Daijingu Shrine is also a top spot for Tanabata, or the Star Festival, which is held in early summer. During the festival, people write down their wishes on slips of paper and attach them to the trees around the shrine. Illuminations are also held after nightfall, making for a colorful, romantic atmosphere.
