Opened in 1999, Zoorasia operates unlike many zoos in Japan. Located on the outskirts of Yokohama, the zoo is split up into seven large exhibition zones that attempt to recreate the animals' natural habit as much as possible. Also, this safari-like zoo plays a major role in the conservation of endangered species. In fact, rare animals such as Tree Kangaroo and Okapi can be found here. Restaurants, cafes and recreational areas for children can also be found throughout the zoo. With over 100 different species of animals, Zoorasia is the perfect family weekend getaway.
