Konoura Onsen is a unique hot springs hotel that utilizes a building, as is, that was originally used as an elementary school from 1874-1980 and still has the atmosphere of that time here and there. Each of the guest rooms still has the class number and year doorplates on them, which the guests will find entertaining. These hot springs are well known for their milky blue springs. What is rare among the three hot springs here is the one that is pleasantly cool with a blue tinge. It is actually their largest bath and one that naturally brings in non-heated water from the source to create a cold, sulfur spring. Unless it's summer, you might be surprised the moment you dip your toes in and shout "It's cold!" The meals are, of course, another thing to look forward to at a hot springs hotel. Their famous company president, who holds qualifications as a prefectural fishery broker, offers up the fish he caught to be used for dinner that same day. Inside their establishment, you can find souvenirs, stores, and places selling local vegetables, and so it is a spot where you can fully experience the local atmosphere.
