Kuronagi Onsen (Kuronagi Hot Spring) is an absolute hidden gem in the infrequently explored Kurobe Valley of Toyama prefecture. It is only accessible via the Kurobe Gorge Railway line, in a mine-cart like carriage! With a huge open-air hot spring bath in the middle of mother nature, this is an experience you can only get in Japan. Become one with nature and enjoy clean fresh air, and bathe just a short distance from the hot spring's source with fast-flowing streams also nearby while being serenaded by nature's unique background music for prime relaxation. Please note, this hot spring can only be accessed from April to November, and train times are limited and finish early, so please be careful to check before you make your trip. Visitors are allowed to wear swimming clothes in the mixed gender bath only.
