Mt. Inasa in Nagasaki Prefecture is known for having one of the best night views in Japan. In fact, the view of Nagasaki City illuminated at night seen from the mountain has been named one of the top three nightscapes in the world alongside Monaco and Hong Kong, and it is also recognized as one of Japan's New Top Three Nightscapes together with Sapporo and Kobe. The top of the mountain can be reached with only a short hike, but the mountain is also outfitted with a ropeway for those who would prefer. While the nighttime view is most famous, the view during the day is also lovely, and visitors will be able to see the whole of Nagasaki City as well as the bay and many of the smaller islands off the coast of the mainland.
