Mt. Nantai is located within the Nikko Natural Park in Tochigi Prefecture. Devoid of any driving roads or cycling paths, the only way to the summit is to walk, and the trek takes several hours to complete. There are several routes visitors can take up the mountain, but many choose the path that passes Futarasan Jinja Shrine, which boasts a stepped route and scenic statues. In addition to being a popular hiking spot, the mountain is also known for the iridescent lake that lies at its base as well as the lush greenery that covers its slopes.
