Nakada Kannon in Aizumisato-machi, Fukushima Prefecture, is one of the Aizu 33 Kannon as well as one of the three Aizu Korori Kannon. It is known as the temple where Shika, mother of bacteriologist and Fukushima-native Hideyo Noguchi, prayed for her son's burn treatments and success in life.
The principal object of worship at the temple is an 11-faced Kannon created during the Kamakura period. It is a standing statue about two meters tall. Inside the Kannon-do temple there is also a dakitsuki pillar, and it is said that anyone who embraces it will have their wishes fulfilled.
