The Nichinan Kaigan Road Park in Miyazaki prefecture can be found on National Highway 220 connecting Toimisaki, the southernmost point in Miyazaki prefecture, with Aoshima Island, and it is a southern road where you can drive while looking at the vast scenery of the Pacific Ocean. Not that the natural scenery on this road is not worth a visit on its own, but the road also has many attractions such as “Sun Messe Nichinan” where 7 tall Moai Statues built in the fashion of those of Easter Island tower above, or the Roadside Station “Phoenix” stop with several restaurants and good ice cream you can get. With an overall pleasant atmosphere, it has been selected as one of the 100 roads of Japan.
