Miyako Botanic Garden Aoshima is a subtropical botanical garden located on the Nichinan Kaigan Coast of Miyazaki Prefecture. The garden is home to over 5,000 plants of around 200 types, including 27 subtropical species.
Throughout the entire year visitors can see a variety of plants such as hibiscuses, lantanas, bougainvilleas, pineapples, and more, which creates an atmosphere true to the southern regions. There is also an area that introduces Miyako Botanic Garden Aoshima’s sister garden, the Singapore Botanic Gardens, including a commemorative statue of the Merlion.
