Mysteries of the fascinating world of drift ice are uncovered at the Okhotsk Ryuhyo Museum where visitors can feel of ice floes, witness the effects of subzero temperatures, and gaze at strangely captivating creatures of the Okhotsk Sea. Visitors will also have a chance to get a hands-on arctic experience by touching actual drift ice, which is kept at -15 degrees Celsius. Located 10 minutes by car from Abashiri Station, the museum sits at the peak of Mt. Tento, and gorgeous views of Hokkaido scenery can be seen from the observation deck.
