This temple was opened in year 736 by the Japanese emperor at the time. The vast grounds contain old architecture from the Edo Era (1603-1868) and Muromachi Era (1336-1573) as well as the Gold Hall and Platinum Hall built in 1961, so you can appreciate the artistic culture of both ancient and modern eras. There is also a grand and modern Western-style rose garden that will sure capture your attention.
