Sankai Falls is a 3-layered waterfall, located in the Zao area of Miyagi prefecture. It drops 181m with a width of 7m wide, and a basin of 12m. It was selected as one of “Japan’s Top 100 Waterfalls” in 1990. The picturesque scene can be enjoyed throughout all seasons, with bright green leaves in the summer turning into warm shades of red and yellow in the autumn.
