The Shimagawa Dam of Gunma prefecture was completed in 1999, forming the beautiful Lake Okushima. With a deep, vibrant blue color, the lake makes for a stunning sight in its mountainous green surroundings. The huge concrete construction of the dam is a great spot to take in the contrast between lush, untouched Japanese nature and man-made industry.
