The construction of Yanba Dam in Naganohara-machi, Gunma Prefecture, took 68 years from the start of planning to completion, and operations of the new dam began in 2020. Both banks of the dam are outfitted with observation platforms. On the left bank is the Yanba Mihodai Platform, from which the bountiful nature of Gunma can be seen, and on the right bank is the Yanba Dam Right Bank Observation Platform, from which visitors can take in the sight of the dam from a closer standpoint. Additionally, there is a thrilling bungee jump that plunges off the Yanba Ohashi Bridge stretching out just in front of the flood gates of the dam, and Yanba Dam tours that use amphibious vehicles are also available. Yanba Dam offers plenty of activities and tours that make use of the dam's lake surface, and it is gathering attention as a new sightseeing spot in Gunma.
