The banks of the Uguikawa River that flows along the foot of the Suzuka Mountains are decorated with rows of Yoshino cherry trees, coming in at a total of around 200. It is a popular place for hanami in spring, and in addition to the blossoms along the river, visitors can also enjoy the colorful flowers of the approximately 1,000 cherry trees that surround the nearby Ozuchi Dam. There are nighttime illuminations of the blossoms during the blooming season, so visitors can enjoy both the brilliant scenery of the day as well as the soft views of the evening. There are also a number of street vendors set up during the season, enabling visitors to indulge in a variety of different foods while enjoying a leisurely stroll.
