The Kyu-Iwasaki-Tei Garden (or garden at the old Iwasaki residence) is a historical residence and garden in Tokyo. The land was purchased by the Iwasaki family, famous for founding Mitsubishi corporation, in the Meiji period (1868-1912) and they commissioned a British architect to create a Western-style residence. The building is interesting both from an architectural perspective, reflecting trends of Japan's modernization in the Meiji period, and from a historical perspective: it was used by the Allied Powers after World War Two.
