Located in the southeastern part of Miyakojima Island, Yoshino Kaigan Beach is one of Okinawa's top scenery spots. Beyond the sheer cliffs, a spacious, 500-meter-long beach of white sand and the vivid emerald green of the ocean expands out to the horizon. A popular spot for snorkeling, the coral reef that spreads out from the shallows is home to a variety of species of tropical fish; the area is also known as a nesting ground for sea turtles. The beach itself is equipped with restrooms and changing areas, and the waves are relatively gentle so children can play safely as well. In order to protect the coral, visitors are asked to be extra careful to avoid stepping on or damaging it while snorkeling.
