Yamaguchi prefecture it the westernmost prefecture of the Chugoku region and thus also of the Honshu island. The capital city of the prefecture is Yamaguchi city, however the biggest and most popular location for tourism is Shimonoseki City. Karato Fish Market for example is a great place to try cheap and tasty Sashimi and Sushi, and is particularly famous for it's high volume in Fugu (blowfish) delicacies. Another extremely popular tourist destination is the Kintai Bridge, an historical wooden arch bridge with 5 sections that was built in the 15th century. You can cross the bridge by foot and the surrounding area is very popular for cherry blossom viewing. Japan's longest cave can also be found in Yamaguchi in the Akiyoshidai Quasi National Park, another popular tourist spot.
