Tsunoshima Island is a little island with a population of around 900 people located floating in the Japan Sea northwest of Yamaguchi prefecture. The attraction to Tsunoshima Island is its beautiful white sands and the glistening emerald green sea. The coastline of northern Yamaguchi which includes Tsunoshima Island is registered as being part of the Kita-Nagato Kaigan Quasi-National Park in which the island is particularly reputed as being beautiful. The bridge that connects you to the island, Tsunoshima Ohashi Bridge, is free to cross and is the second longest bridge in Japan! The lighthouse, made from granite in a western style has been in operation ever since it was first lit in 1876. With its beautiful crystal clear waters, and it’s fine silky white beaches, every year beach-goers visit the area attracted to the two different beaches available in the area. You can enjoy both Tsunoshima Ohama Beach and also Shiokaze Cobalt Blue Beach which also doubles up as a camping site too. So why not enjoy the beautiful sunset over the horizon at this beautiful sightseeing spot!
