Akan Iyomap Garden was created from a courtyard within onsen resort and hotel Akanko Lake Tsuruga Wings. It is a fusion between nature and Jomon and Ainu culture, creating a new kind of garden. Some unique characteristics of the garden are the kamuini (totem poles) inlaid with Ainu patterns as well as the "dress garden" which, if you stand in the middle of, makes it look like you're wearing a beautiful dress made of flowers. At night, projection mapping colors the surrounding surfaces, enveloping visitors in a mysterious aura.
