Shoryudo Cave is a limestone cave located on Okinoerabu Island in Kagoshima Prefecture, that is a designated natural monument. The cave was discovered in 1936 and today, a 600m long passage of the 3500m long cave is accessible and open to the public. Some of the stalactites and stalagmites look as though they are sprinkled with gold, silver or gemstones and have been given names, such as Christmas Tree or Diamond Palace.
