Yonehara Beach is on the west side of central Ishigakijima Island, and it is one of the most popular beaches on the island. This wide and shallow beach is well suited for snorkeling, and nearby the beach colorful tropical fish swimming about and beautiful coral reefs can be seen. However, strong rip tides are common and dangerous, so it's not a good place for casual swimming. To go in the water, wearing snorkeling gear or a life jacket is strongly recommended. On the beach near the water, there is a campground equipped with barbecue facilities, so visitors can enjoy a full day of outdoor activities.
