Kairyu Marine Park is one of the largest marina facilities in the Sea of Japan, and here visitors can enjoy marine sports and fishing to their hearts' content. Toyama Bay, which faces this marina, has relatively gentle waves, and marine leisure activities such as cruising and fishing can be enjoyed all year long. In each region of Japan, a cruising route selected by the government called Marintik Kaido has been developed so that many people can experience the fun of boats and the ocean. Toyama Bay, where Kairyu Marine Park is located, was selected in March 2019 as the sole model route on the Sea of Japan side of the Honshu island. In addition to cruising, passengers can also enjoy sightseeing in the suburbs and gourmet cuisine spots when stopping at the port.
Nearby the marina is the Kaiwo Maru Park, which spreads out around the sailing ship Kaiwo Maru, sometimes called the "lady of the sea." The largest cable-stayed bridge in the Sea of Japan, Shinminato Bridge, is also located here, and comes highly recommended as a picturesque photo point. Toyama Bay is one of the most beautiful bays in the world, making Kairyu Marine Park an excellent place to safely and casually enjoy marine leisure.
