Kochijo Castle

History

Kochi Castle was selected as one of Japan's Top 100 Castles. The castle tower and inner palace were constructed in the 17th century, and Kochi Castle is the only castle in Japan that retains both structures on site. 15 structures and gates have been designated as important cultural assets, and the castle is also known as Takashiro (Falcon Castle), which stems from its grey roof tiles and white walls resembling the coloring of a falcon. In recent years, projection mapping events have also been held here.
